چکیده

Tailored prosthesis design must to be done in as accurately as possible way to fit particular patient requirements. Aiming this intent, some techniques based on image processing have been being studied. In this context, the image quality is highly important and decisive in the accuracy, or even feasibility, of these methodologies. To do so, the image treatment is done through the gamma correction technique, which must accomplish two as important as objectives: contrast enhancement and intensity preservation. To solve this multi-objective problem, a classic and so spread in literature technique the Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm version II (NSGA-II) is applied, and besides, an adaptive version. In this work, these algorithms were applied to some medical images, and the final results showed that the adaptive techniques used in modified NSGA-II are not only feasible, but also improves the final solutions.

An Adaptive Fuzzy Contrast Enhancement Algorithm with Details Preserving

This paper modifies the Adaptive Contrast Enhancement Algorithm with Details Preserving (ACEDP) technique by integrating a fuzzy element in the image type selection. The proposed technique, named the Adaptive Fuzzy Contrast Enhancement with Details Preserving (AFCEDP) technique, first computes the degree of membership of the input image to three categories, i.e. low-, middleor high-level images...

An Adaptive Contrast Enhancement Algorithm with Details Preserving

This paper presents an adaptive contrast enhancement algorithm with details preserving (ACEDP) to enhance gray-scale image. Initially, the input image is classified into low-, middleor high-level image based on the gray-level distribution of maximum number of pixels. The proposed ACEDP algorithm assigns different plateau functions for different type of image and histogram clipping is then perfo...

Cystoscopic Image Classification Based on Combining MLP and GA

In the past three decades, the use of smart methods in medical diagnostic systems has attracted the attention of many researchers. However, no smart activity has been provided in the field of medical image processing for diagnosis of bladder cancer through cystoscopy images despite the high prevalence in the world. In this paper, a multilayer neural network was applied to clas...

Monitoring process variability: a hybrid Taguchi loss and multiobjective genetic algorithm approach

The common consideration on economic model is that there is knowledge about the risk of occurrence of an assignable cause and the various cost parameters that does not always adequately describe what happens in practice. Hence, there is a need for more realistic assumptions to be incorporated. In order to reduce cost penalties for not knowing the true values of some parameters, this paper aims ...

A New Algorithm for Skin Lesion Border Detection in Dermoscopy Images

Background: With advances in medical imaging systems, digital dermoscopy has become one of the major imaging modalities in the analysis of skin lesions. Thus, automated segmentation or border detection has a great impact on the subsequent steps of skin cancer computer-aided diagnosis using demoscopy images. Since dermoscopy images suffer from artifacts such as shading and hair, there is a need ...
